Background

Paper.io 2  follows up on the successes of its predecessor, the Paper i.o game. It is essentially a multiplayer game that is something of a cross between a general-interest game and a regular puzzle. Like Paper i.o, it was developed by VOODOO but with more intensity that will keep you hooked for hours once you get the hang of it.

The general idea of the game is for you to play against other real-time players who are all looking to seize as much territory as possible. Interestingly, you don't have to fight with guns or swords over space.

You get all the space you can by chewing (what an interesting way to appropriate space) away at as much land as possible. You start with a small, colored, constantly moving square that you must expand or lose to the competition. So Paper i.o 2 is essentially a racy, chewing competition where you try to chew away all the space on the board into your possession. You can also steal as much of your opponent's territory as possible.

Since they say all is fair in love and war, you could also opt to eliminate your competition and ring their territory with a cube. If you are also the more adventurous, daring type, you might opt to leave your zone to acquire more space. But such a move often always ends badly because you are at increased risk of being eliminated by a player waiting for you to make such a move! However, if you make it back to your square, all the space you covered becomes yours!

 Whatever means you opt to deploy, you must paint all the land you have appropriated to your color to mark it as yours!

Once you can control 100% of the board, you have won.

Paper i.o 2 Mechanics

You get dropped into a game that started without you, and guess what? You'd be playing against bots and not humans. So the chances are that most of the space on the board may have already been chewed away by the bots.

It even gets more interesting. The number of bots you are up against matches the game's difficulty level, but as if that wasn't tough enough, the bots are constantly being introduced into the game! The only place you are sure that they won't come from is within your territory. Every other space is fair game.

The game is set up so that the bots have most of the space, and the more bots you kill, the more concentrated the spaces become. The lack of a pause button further increases the game's intensity, so once you start…
